Volleyball camp for ‘dawgs’

The big "Dawg" is back.

Bill Neville, former coach for the USA gold medal-winning men’s volleyball team, a former coach at the University of Washington and owner of a gym in Bellevue where he and staffers coach volleyball players year-round, brings back the annual Junkyard Dawg Volleyball Camp.

The camp is slated for

9 a.m.-4 p.m. July 28-31 at the Sequim High School gymnasium, 601 N. Sequim Ave.

The camp is open to

Sequim girls entering grades 7-12 this fall who want to learn volleyball or improve their volleyball skills.

Cost of the camp is $240. The fee includes a camp shirt and a player handbook.

Jennie Webber Heilman, Sequim High School varsity coach, urges interested campers to sign up as soon as possible to guarantee a spot in camp. The camp is limited to the first 26 players to register.

After July 9, the camp will be open to volleyball girls from other schools if space still is available.

For more information or to register, call Heilman at 457-5622 or e-mail to jheil

Neville, the author of several volleyball coaching books, is USA volleyball’s commissioner of coaching education.
