Volleyball: Wolves batter Bulldogs in 3 SLIDESHOW

Sequim won 25-7, 25-19 and 25-18.

Ella Christensen led a balanced attack with six kills, followed by four kills each by Sydney Balkan and Adrienne Haggerty. Jayden Overby-Morgison and Kaila Sundquist had three kills each.

Balkan led the squad with 12 assists and Lillian Oden added eight.

Bentz and Balkan were both a perfect 14-for-14 on serves and Overby-Morgison was 16-of-17 as the Wolves were 60-for-65 (92.3 percent) from the serving line. Balkan had six aces and Overby-Morgison added four.

Sequim libero McKenzie Bentz paced the defense with a team-high 33 digs; Balkan had 13 and Christensen added 12.

Sequim swept the two-match season series last year and ran their streak against their league foe to 10. Sequim hasn’t lost a match to the Bulldogs since October of 2008.

Looking ahead

The Wolves were scheduled to play at Kingston on Sept. 22. Sequim hosts rival Port Angeles on Sept. 24 before playing a non-league match at Centralia on Sept. 25 and battling some of the regions top teams at the Monarch Challenge in Longview on Sept. 26.
