The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office welcomed new patrol deputy Torri Middlekauff to its staff last week.

Middlekauff was sworn in by Sheriff Bill Benedict on July 21 and was scheduled to enter the Basic Law Enforcement Academy at the Criminal Justice Training Center on July 24.

Upon graduating from the Academy in December, Middlekauff will enter the field training phase, where she will work for several months with experienced field training officers on both day and night shifts.

Middlekauff is a resident of Washington and graduated from Western Washington University in 2013.

She said she always has wanted to serve in law enforcement.

Middlekauff worked as a park ranger and applied to the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office for the deputy sheriff position.

She is an avid outdoor enthusiast, enjoying hiking, kayaking and camping.
