After a recent concert that featured “Five Star Brass,” a brass quintet of the Navy Band Northwest, the Sequim City Band will take a Thanksgiving break from rehearsals.
Weekly rehearsals will resume Wednesday, Nov. 29.
The next public performance will be the Sequim City Band playing traditional Christmas music on the afternoon of Saturday, Nov. 25, to greet Santa Claus as he arrives in downtown Sequim as a kick-off of the Christmas season.
“Saxologists,” a city band saxophone quartet, will be playing at the Olympic Theatre Arts’ OFF Stage for the First Friday Art Walk in December. Look for upcoming announcements by the OTA or view their website (olympictheatrearts.org).
In addition to the “Saxologists,” the Sequim City Band sponsors the “Olympic Winds” clarinet ensemble. Both groups are available for holiday performances. Leave a message at 360-207-4722 or contact the band through the contact button at www.sequimcityband.org for more information.
Mark your calendars for the band’s annual holiday concert, set for Sunday, Dec. 17, and the late winter concert on Sunday, March 11. Both concerts start at 3 p.m. at the Sequim High School auditorium, 533 N. Sequim Ave.
