Olympic Peninsula musicians meet Seattle-based multi-instrumentalist for a night of folk music in Sequim’s backyard.

Port Angeles violinist Chandra Johnson & the Homeschool Boys will perform live with Eli West, an Americana, acoustic musician from Seattle at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, at Calvary Chapel Sequim, 91 S. Boyce Road.

West is an internationally touring singer and multi-instrumentalist who is known for his work with Norwegian fiddler Olav Mjelva, Cahalen Morrison, Jayme Stone and more. His album, “The Both” released in February of 2016 features West taking the lead on electric and acoustic guitars, banjo and pedal steel.

Chandra Johnson & The Homeschool Boys will open for West and are well-known in the music scene on the Olympic Peninsula. They have performed with other local bands such as Port Angeles’ Crushwater — where Johnson also plays the violin — the Seattle Rock Opera, Hot Damn Scandal and others.

Johnson will take the lead for the first time backed by the Homeschool Boys as she performs a selection of her favorite songs as well as old songs from the Homeschool Boys’ repertoire.

The show is free and welcomes all ages.
