Trinity United celebrates the season
The Victorian era will permeate Trinity United Methodist Church during December services as Ebenezer Scrooge helps illustrate the story of Christmas. Carolers and musicians in Victorian garb will greet people arriving for the 10 a.m. service each Sunday in December at the church, 100 S. Blake Ave. A town crier will proclaim the theme of the day as a lamplighter tends to the Advent lamps. Decor will be typical of Victorian times. The story of Scrooge’s journey from a bitter miser to a joyous giver will be explored through drama, music and the reflections of Pastor Bill Green.
People attending the services are encouraged to “dress Victorian” if they wish. On Dec. 24, in addition to the 10 a.m. service, there will be a 6 p.m. Christmas Eve candle-lighting service. The Victorian theme will continue, with handbells and traditional carols.
