Milestones: Sequim’s Panter earns degree; Wilwert named to ISU dean’s list

Sequim students make the grade at EWU
Five Sequim-are students were recently named to the Fall 2021 Dean’s List at Eastern Washington University.
They are: Demiree Briones, Alison Cobb, Kaylee Dunlap, Caleb Pozernick and Taig Wiker.
An undergraduate student who earns 12 quality hours and receives a grade-point-average of 3.5 or better is placed on the Dean’s List.
Sequim’s Panter earns computer science degree
Kathryn Panter of Sequim earned a master’s degree in computer science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.
Panter was among about 4,900 undergraduate and graduate students to be presented Georgia Tech degrees during the institute’s 261st commencement exercises Dec. 17-18.
According to school officials, the institute offers business, computing, design, engineering, liberal arts and sciences degrees and is “a top 10 public research university developing leaders who advance technology and improve the human condition.”

Locals earn academic honors at Gonzaga
Three Sequim-area students were recently named to the Gonzaga University President’s List for fall semester 2021. They are: Liam Braaten, Hannah D’Amico and Alina Sampolinski. Students must earn a 3.85-4.0 grade-point-average to be listed.
Sequim’s Aidan Braaten and Emma Shogren were named to Gonzaga’s Dean’s List; students must earn a 3.5-3.84 GPA to be listed.
Wilwert earns spot on ISU dean’s list
Carmen Wilwert of Sequim was recently named to the fall semester 2021 Dean’s List at Iowa State University.
Students named to the Dean’s List must have earned a grade-point-average of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded course work.
Wilwert is a senior studying chemical engineering.
