Priest Road repairs begin, expected to finish in September

Road repairs worth about $1.15 million to rehabilitate Priest Road by Walmart started on July 9 by Lakeside Industries, PR Systems, Specialized Pavement Markings, and Olympic Concrete Cutting.

The project will continue 10-11 weeks through late September, depending on weather, from Washington Street to just north of Jennie’s Boulevard, according to city staff.

Roadwork will take place 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday, with some night work anticipated to replace the subgrade and place 2,950 tons of hot mix asphalt on Priest Road.

Funding mostly comes from a Surface Transportation Block Grant (85%) and the remainder from the city’s Transportation Benefit District. The project is running concurrently with Earthwork Solutions, LLC.’s work to replace 61 deficient ADA ramps across the city by mid-November.
