NOLS seeks public’s input for strategic planning

The North Olympic Library System (NOLS) is seeking community input to help shape its next five-year Strategic Roadmap.

Whether you visit the library every week or haven’t been in years, NOLS wants to hear from you.

To share your ideas, take a survey online at NOLS.org/survey, or pick up a paper copy at any NOLS branch, including the Bookmobile. The survey is also available in Spanish. Responses will be collected through Saturday, Aug. 30.

“This survey is your chance to help us create a library system that meets your needs and grows with you into the future,” said NOLS Executive Director Noah Glaude in a press release.

As part of the 2026-2030 Strategic Roadmap development, NOLS has also been gathering feedback from staff through workshops at each branch. Feedback collected from staff and through the community survey will be analyzed and presented to the NOLS Board of Trustees in the fall.

Glaude has identified four areas of focus to help guide the strategic planning process:

Collections and services that matter: Providing the right tools, books and resources to support education, entertainment, connection and discovery.

Outreach and accessibility: Making library services easier to access, whether at a branch, online, or across the county with the Bookmobile and home delivery.

Fun and engaging programming: Offering meaningful events and learning opportunities for all ages.

Supporting our local economy: Connecting job seekers, entrepreneurs and small businesses with the resources they need to thrive.

Survey responses will be used by NOLS to meet the needs and desires of the community in the coming years.
