Rally in the Alley

The City of Sequim, in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Clallam County and Olympic Disposal, will hold the next Rally in the Alley on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. or until dumpsters are full. Organizers ask that people not show up early for the event.

Dumpsters will be located at Carrie Blake Community Park, 202 N. Blake Ave., near the pickleball courts, and the City Shop at Third and Hemlock streets.

Volunteers will be on-site to assist city residents with discarding unwanted items free of charge. No tires, appliances, liquid paint, gas, fuel, or oil will be accepted.

OUUF speaker

Bruce Domazlicky will speak on the topic “Adam Smith Can Change Your Life” at Olympic Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 1033 N. Barr Road, at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 12.

Smith was one of the most significant moral philosophers of the 18th Century. His book, “The Theory of Moral Sentiments,” offers deep insights into the origins of morality and why we desire to be moral beings.

Domazlicky earned his PhD in Economics from the University of Wyoming in 1976. He taught for 40 years at the post-secondary level, the last 28 at Southeast Missouri State University. He published 40 articles in professional journals during his career and was a service leader for 15 years at the Cape Girardeau Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.

One can attend the service either in person or via Zoom. For more information, visit olympicuuf.com.
