Clallam County Fire District 3 staff report that from Oct. 11 to Oct. 18 they responded to 215 calls for service.

They responded to a few motor vehicle wrecks in recent weeks at common crossings such as Old Olympic and Kitchen Dick Road, and at Old Olympic Highway and Cays Road. Firefighters encourage drivers to slow down, anticipate the reactions of other drivers, and be courteous on the roads.

As temperatures get colder, be aware of ice, and make sure you have your chimney’s cleaned and checked by a professional to prevent an early season chimney fire.
