Clallam County Fire District 3 reports that it responded to multiple power lines down throughout the district during recent storms. Firefighters remind residents not to approach down powerlines and to follow the instructions of responders on scene. If you come across lines down, stay at least the distance between two power poles away and call 911. Electricity can travel large distances through the ground, trees, and fences and assume all downed lines are energized.

Now that the morning temperatures have dropped, motor vehicle collisions have been reported due to icy conditions on the local roadways. As a reminder, when approaching an emergency scene on the roadway, remember to slow down, move over (safely), and give responders a safe place to work.
