Soroptimist International of Sequim recently selected Aleah Chen for the group’s December Girl of the Month award.

Chen actively volunteers with Peninsula Friends of Animals and has a history of volunteering for the Sequim Lavender Festival, Sequim Food Bank and the City of Sequim.

She has been a member of Girls Scouts of America for the past 10 years and is the recipient of their Silver Award.

Chen will be graduating as a member of National Honor Society and has been accepted to attend Washington State University. She plans to major in animal science.
