Astronomical Society to meet
A special meeting of the Olympic Astronomical Society will be held on Tuesday, May 20 at the NOLS library in Port Angeles, 2210 S. Peabody St. It will be from 7-8:30 p.m.
The Olympic Astronomical Society is an amateur astronomy club based in Bremerton. The purpose of the free special meeting is to reach out to potential stargazers in Clallam County.
Information will be provided about stargazing, light pollution and telescopes. Beginners are welcome.

Gore has run the public telescope programs at Hurricane Ridge since 2010.
Finding calm
Olympic Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 1033 N. Barr Rd., will host guest speaker M.E. Bartholomew on Sunday, May 18 at 11 a.m. Her message will be “Finding Your Pathway to Calm.”
Bartholomew will share strategies and techniques for maintaining a sense of calm through the stress of confusing times.
Bartholomew is an energy medicine practitioner as well as a singer and speaker around the area. Prior to COVID-19, she was involved with the Peace Choir, both in the organization and singing.
For the past 15 years she has been singing at the Center for Spiritual Living in Sequim. Well-known in the local Toastmaster community, she loves giving humorous speeches and MC-ing events.
One can attend the service either in-person or via Zoom.

Serving veterans
The Disabled American Veterans Chapter 5 office located at the Sequim Museum administration building, 544 N. Sequim Ave., is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Wednesday to serve all veterans with claims and information.
Veterans do not have to be a member of the DAV to receive assistance.
