Sincere thanks
On behalf of the Sequim Prairie Garden Club, I am writing with immense joy and profound appreciation for the incredible support our recent plant sale received. What a truly heartwarming testament to the strength and generosity of our Sequim community!
This year’s sale was not only our largest ever, boasting an unprecedented inventory, but it was also the most well-attended in our history. This success would simply not have been possible without the collaborative spirit and tireless efforts of so many individuals and organizations.
We extend our deepest thanks to the City of Sequim for their invaluable support. We are particularly grateful to Mayor Brandon Janisse, Deputy Mayor Rachel Anderson, and Hannah Merrill from Public Works for their assistance in ensuring the smooth execution of our event.
Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to the wonderful local businesses that generously donated plants, adding such beauty and variety to our sale: Sunny Farms, New Dungeness Nursery, Valley Nursery, The Cutting Edge Garden Art Center, and Cascade Bark. Your contributions were truly remarkable.
We also want to acknowledge the businesses that so graciously hosted our street signs, helping to spread the word: the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce, Hines Homes, Remax Realty, Hardy’s Market, and Diamond Construction. Your partnership was essential.
A special thank you to the many locally owned shops, vendors, and businesses that displayed our flyers in their windows, further amplifying our reach. And of course, to the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce for their ongoing support and digital newsletter promotion.
The role of our local media was instrumental in our success. We are so grateful to KSQM and the vibrant personalities of Sassy Susan and Flo, to Emily Matthiessen and the Sequim Gazette, and to Ta ma’ra Elliott, our dedicated digital marketing consultant. Your commitment to keeping our community informed is deeply valued.
The setup and takedown of such a
event was a monumental task, and we are eternally grateful to the incredible volunteers who made it happen. The Sequim Valley Lions Club provided invaluable assistance with both setup and takedown, including the crucial task of moving all 42 tables!
We were absolutely thrilled with the enthusiastic help from Scout Troops 1498 and 7498, both the boys and girls, who numbered at least 15 strong! Their efficiency in moving extra plants, wiping coverings and tables, and neatly organizing the fencing was truly outstanding. We extend our sincere appreciation to their dedicated leaders: Kaia McCarter, Mr. Rynearson, Mrs. Spaulding, and Mrs. Henninger – your leadership and the scouts’ hard work were simply fantastic.
We also thank the Sequim High School FFA and their advisor, Candy Seelye, for their strong backs and positive attitudes. The Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe generously provided the large tents that were so vital to the event’s layout, and Kevin Elliott, our park consultant, was a tremendous help with table setup.
We also extend our sincere thanks to Security Services NW and Sequim PUD for their crucial support with parking, ensuring the safety and convenience of our many visitors. This event would not have been possible without their contribution.
Finally, a heartfelt thank you to our talented and generous members of the Sequim Prairie Garden Club, who dedicated an entire week of 8-hour days to prepare for this four-hour sale. Your passion and commitment to our community are truly inspiring.
We were so touched by the enthusiasm of our customers and their incredible support. We apologize for any wait times experienced and are already working on strategies to improve the flow next year, including modifying our line strategy and increasing the number of tellers.
Thank you, Sequim, for your overwhelming support of our annual plant sale. All of the proceeds from our plant sale go toward the maintenance of Pioneer Park. It is your enthusiasm and generosity that make this event a highlight of our year and allows us to continue contributing to our beautiful community.
We are immensely proud to be a part of such a caring and collaborative town.
