Choruses delight audience

Under director John Lorentzen, students in Sequim High School’s three choirs — Concert Choir, Select Choir and Vocal Ensemble — delighted friends and family alike with festive holiday tunes at their winter holiday concert Dec. 14 at the SHS auditorium.

Following winter break Dec. 19-Jan. 2, choir students prep for a regional (North Olympic Peninsula) Solo and Ensemble Festival set for Jan. 28 at Port Angeles High School. Students who score a superior rating there have a chance to advance to the state competition.

From Feb. 3-6, five students — seniors Thomas Arnesen, Silas Baird, Colleen Carpenter and Victoria Hall, and junior Tomi Wilson — are slated to attend the Honors Festival at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Two weekends later, students from the program attend the All-Northwest/All-State Music Festival in Bellevue.

On March 28, students perform in a choral adjudication, also in Port Angeles.
