Explore the outdoors with help from your library

One of the best ways to appreciate summer is to get outside and take a deeper look at our natural surroundings. The Olympic Peninsula is bursting with opportunities for exploration, and the North Olympic Library System (NOLS) is here to help you make the most of it.

With a free NOLS library card, you can check out gear packs with passes and tools to enhance your outdoor adventures.

Whether you’re hoping to spot an Olympic marmot, identify a bird that keeps coming by the feeder, or access a trail to view wildflowers, these specially designed kits can help guide your experience. Visit NOLS.org/gear to browse available options and place a hold online today or call the library for assistance.

YMCA Passes

If getting outdoors isn’t exactly your preferred way to get the blood pumping this summer, NOLS is happy to announce that you can check out a one-week pass for the Sequim YMCA, thanks to a partnership with the Olympic Peninsula YMCA.

Looking for more ways to supplement your adventures? NOLS staff can help you find just the right thing, like a telescope for stargazing, a camping cookbook, or an audiobook for a summer road trip. Whatever your interest, the library has resources to help you explore more deeply.

The Sequim Library Temporary Location, 609 W. Washington St., is open Monday–Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, visit NOLS.org, call 360-683-1161, or email Sequim@nols.org.
