Get water conservation, fertilizing tips at Garden Walk

Join Clallam County Master Gardeners at the next Second Saturday Garden Walk as they share water conservation tips and fertilizing strategies from 10-11:30 a.m. on June 10 at the Fifth Street Community Garden is at 328 E. Fifth St., Port Angeles.

Master Gardeners Jan Bartron, Bob Cain, Laurel Moulton and Audreen Williams will detail some specific garden pests that are leaving holes and chewing plant parts, as well as a myriad other things that are present in the garden. Walks are full of lively, on-the-spot sharing of gardening knowledge and tips.

Come share your gardening experiences, bring your vegetable gardening questions and get timely science-based advice at this, the third walk of the 2023 season.

All Second Saturday Garden Walks are free and open to the public and occur rain or shine. The walks are ideal for people starting a vegetable garden for the first time and gardeners who are new to the Pacific Northwest but also are beneficial to the more experienced gardener.

he garden includes more than 50 individuals plots, each 9 feet by 12 feet. The garden was developed on city property in 2011 with a vision to connect people to the earth and their community through growing food.

The event is part of the Second Saturday Garden Walks, an educational series sponsored by WSU Clallam County Master Gardeners that started in April and runs through September.
