March’s green theme for the First Friday Art Walk Sequim represents young at heart pursuits, generous support, breathtaking alfresco, wellness, nurturing natures and youthful spirits. Find works of art and folks supporting the option to decorate and dress in all shades of green for an evening out on the town.
First Friday Art Walk Sequim is a fun and free self-guided tour of local art venues in Sequim on the First Friday of every month from 5-8 p.m. Visit online at www.sequimartwalk.com to download and print a map, find special events and links, and how you can be part of art.
The group’s mission is to create approachable and accessible art and cultural venues that encourage the community to connect and celebrate expression and diversity.

Special events for March 7:
• The Museum & Arts Center in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley at 175 W. Cedar St. features a solo exhibition by renowned Sequim-based photographer Ross Hamilton. “Jewels of the Olympics” is a retrospective of Hamilton’s work photographing the region’s varied landscapes and seasonal nature scenes over the span of 40 years.
• The play “Love, Loss, and What I Wore” by Nora and Delia Ephron opens at the Olympic Theatre Arts at 414 N. Sequim Ave. with an exhibit of upcycled wearable assemblage art created entirely from salvaged materials by the New Social Club. All the wearable art by the New Social Club are crafted from 95-100 percent repurposed materials gifted from private individuals or salvaged from personal estates, and found objects from all over the peninsula.
• Join Pacific Mist Books, 121 W. Washington St., on March 7, for Vickie Maples’ last First Friday! The guest author will be Gene Bradbury, featuring his newest work,”Fergus of Lighthouse Island,” a very special book for the children in your life. Artwork, greeting cards and hand-crafted journals by J Wyatt Art will be featured for the First Friday Art Walk with warm refreshments from Cameron’s Cafe and Custom Catering.

• Maryann Proctor’s contemporary whimsical acrylic artwork featuring her pet chickens and early photographic art will be on display at Colors of Sequim, 139 W Washington St. Meet the artist 5-8 p.m.
• Don Tiller, internationally known artist, will be the featured artist at the Blue Whole Gallery, 129 W. Washington St., offering a special show titled “Sky Narratives.” Meet the artist 5-8 p.m. More at www.bluewholegallery.com.
• Nora Lawson’s photographic art at the Sequim Library, 630 N Sequim Ave., as part of the ongoing “Art in the Library Series” through May. An artist’s reception, light refreshments and live music by local guitarist singer-songwriter Kevin Lee Magner playing a range of American roots music 6-7:30 p.m.
• Sally Cays and Patricia Taynton present traditional artwork and more at Gallery on the Walls, 128 E. Washington St. The gallery is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday and by appointment on weekends by calling 683-5387. Meet the artists 5-8 p.m.
• Jean Wyatt, resident artist at Pacific Mist Books, 121 W. Washington St., will have her enameled floor cloths, journals and greeting cards displayed and Marilyn Brock’s fused glass sun catchers also will be on display. Open for First Friday 5-8 p.m.
• New work by many local artists will be featured in the main gallery and in the foyer at The LARC Art Gallery, 425 E. Washington St. A reception is from 5-8 p.m.
• The Sunshine Café, 145 W. Washington St., presents fine art, graphics and cartoons by the late Tim Quinn, a gifted local artist, who left a legacy of artwork throughout the North Olympic Peninsula for all to enjoy. Open for First Friday 5-8 p.m.
• At Wind Rose Cellars, 143 W. Washington St., Sequim, local artists have work on display plus wine tasting and late evening entertainment to 9 p.m. First Friday.
• Enjoy the artwork and sample gourmet and exotic coffee brewed from beans roasted and ground on the premises at The Rainshadow Roasting Company, 157 W. Cedar St. Open for First Friday 5-8 p.m.

• Artists Harry von Stark, Nora Lawson, Aaron Wright and other regional artists exhibit their artwork through April 8 at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St., as part of the ongoing “Art in the Library Series.” Through April 13 the Burke Museum’s traveling exhibit “Cruisin the Washington Fossil Freeway” by celebrated artist Ray Troll will be on display including the insightful texts of paleontologist Kirk Johnson.
The library winter art show also includes selections from the Real Change collection, a touring collection of portraits and biographies of homeless individuals.
• Pam Dick’s digital fractal artwork is on display at the Bank of America, Sequim branch, 114 S. Sequim Ave., March-May during business hours Monday-Saturday.
• Skip Kratzer’s “Amazing Car Art and More” at The Good Book, 108 W. Washington St., and Dog House Powder Coating, 503 S. Third Ave.
• Scott Erickson’s striking photographic scenes of the Southwest, Alaska, North Olympic Peninsula and other locations in the U.S. are refreshed and displayed on a rotating basis at Strait Financial Advice, 193 W. Cedar St.
• Local artists’ art on display at Clear Image, 518 N. Sequim Ave., during business hours.
