One of Sequim’s most popular spots, The Dungeness River Nature Center, 1943 W. Hendrickson Road, gets in the holiday spirit starting this weekend with its annual Holiday Nature Mart.

Organizers said 23 artisans and crafters worked in 17 different media year-round to donate hundreds of items to Nature Mart.

The event takes place from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, and noon-4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, inside and outside of the center’s Rainshadow Hall.

Nature Mart has run the weekend before Thanksgiving since 2006. Proceeds upport the center’s education programs and operations.

Some of the exclusive items at the holiday show include a driftwood piece by award-winning artist Tuttie Peetz with only 100 tickets available for “Denison of the Deep.”

The center continues the tradition of offering a holiday ornament with this year featuring a photo by Lori Moilanen called “Breakfast to Go.”

Organizers encourage visitors to also pick up homemade goodies, both savory and sweet, from its large bake sale, and to pick up a hot beverage from Hurricane Coffee Bar.
