VHOCC offers volunteer training

Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County is offering a Community Education and Volunteer Training series starting Wednesday, Sept. 19, and running six consecutive Fridays through Oct. 24. Sessions are set for 6-8 p.m. at 810 S. Albert St., Port Angeles.

The series provides a history and overview of hospice and the philosophy behind Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County; explores attitudes towards death and dying; delves into the grieving process and self-care, and offers training for those interested in volunteering with the organization.

Sessions are open to the public and there is no charge. As space is limited, pre-registration is required by calling 360-452-1511 or emailing to vsm@vhocc.org.

Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County supports terminally ill patients and their families emotionally, physically and spiritually. Ongoing grief support services and loan of medical equipment are also available to anyone in the community.
