Organizers of the Sequim Giving Tree and Sequim High School Interact Club members wrap hundreds of items for the tree that will be available by Habitat for Humanity’s Sequim store 24 hours a day through Dec. 21. Community members are encouraged to take small gifts and to leave some as well.

The second-annual Christmas “Giving Tree” is now up through Dec. 21 by Habitat for Humanity of Clallam County’s Sequim store at 154 W. Washington St.

The tree is sponsored by the independent community group “Sequim First” and Habitat for Humanity.

A noble fir tree donated by Lazy J Tree Farm was placed on Nov. 30, and will be available through Dec. 21.

Organizers’ motto is to “take what you want but leave what you can.”

Children can choose a gift and also learn the joy of giving, organizers said.

Donations of children’s gifts and personal care items are accepted and must fit into a 10-inch plastic bag (with no food or toys that look like weapons).
