Responder Blotter — Nov. 12, 2025
Published 5:30 am Wednesday, November 12, 2025
The weekly blotter includes incidents that occurred in the City of Sequim and in unincorporated Clallam County in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley area.
Clallam County Fire District 3 staff report that from Nov. 2-8, they responded to 210 calls for service.
Firefighters report that over the weekend, there was an uptick in automated 911 alarms due to dropped smartphones that took emergency responders away from training and daily chores.
The Crash Detection feature, along with its advanced sensors, has led to an unintended consequence — a surge in false emergency calls. Firefighters said it is important to answer your phone after such an event, and communicate with the 911 dispatch center to verify if there is a true emergency or a false alarm.
November is Lithium-Ion battery safety month. Did you know: You should store lithium-ion batteries at room temperature when possible. Do not charge them at temperatures below 32 degrees Fahrenheit (0 degrees Celsius) or above 105 degrees Fahrenheit (40 degrees Celsius).
