River center hosting dinner cruise

During Sequim Lavender Weekend, the Dungeness River Audubon Center is offering a dinner cruise on the 55-passenger, 65-foot Glacier Spirit around Protection Island for a narrated program on marine bird life and marine mammals found between John Wayne Marina in Sequim and Protection Island National Wildlife Refuge.

During Sequim Lavender Weekend, the Dungeness River Audubon Center is offering a dinner cruise on the 55-passenger, 65-foot Glacier Spirit around Protection Island for a narrated program on marine bird life and marine mammals found between John Wayne Marina in Sequim and Protection Island National Wildlife Refuge.

Expect to see tufted puffins, rhinoceros auklets and other sea birds.

This is a two-hour tour and dinner is included.

Wine may be purchased on board.

The cruise is from 6:30-9 p.m. Friday-Saturday, July 15-16, and costs $75 per person.

The cruise leaves from John Wayne Marina, 2577 West Sequim Bay Road.

Proceeds benefit the education programs of the Dungeness River Audubon Center and Railroad Bridge Park.
