The pack is on the prowl.

Sequim’s Wolves earned their first win against Klahowya since the 2009-2010 season with a cliffhanger in Silverdale on Dec. 2

Sequim (3-3) trailed Klahowya by 40 pins heading into the final Baker-format game and combined to bowl a 175-pin game to the Eagles’ 116, giving Sequim a point for the game and 4-3 match victory.

The team split the Baker and regular-format games but Sequim had the advantage in total pins (1,472 to 1,291).

In that final Baker game, Sequim’s Dakota Henderson earned a strike in the eighth frame as did Tenille Tosland in the ninth. Anchor bowler Kaitlyn Jackson then threw two in a row to seal the match.

Henderson led Sequim bowlers with 164 pins in her regular games, including a team-high 149 in the first, while Jayme McIntyre had a 147-pin second game.

Two days later, the Wolves fell 7-0 to defending state champ Bremerton, coming closest to earning points in the first game, a 660-635 defeat.

Henderson again led the Wolves with a 285-pin, two-game score — including a team-high 154-pin game in the opener. Tosland was second at 255 pins and Jackson third with 245.

Sequim hosts Olympic on Oct. 11 and returns the favor with a road match on Dec. 16 before the winter break.

Their next match after the home-and-home with Olympic is at Bremerton Jan. 6.
