Dungeness Cup still kicking

The fourth-annual Dungeness Cup returns to Sequim from July 31-Aug. 2, with teams from more than 20 clubs signed up to battle for first and second place awards in the foothills of the Olympic Mountains at the Albert Haller Playfields Soccer Complex, just north of Carrie Blake Park.

Hosted by Sequim Family Advocates and Storm King FC, and sanctioned by Washington State Youth Soccer, the tournament is open to Washington Youth Soccer teams, U.S. Youth Soccer teams from across the state and youth teams from British Columbia and across Canada. Teams already signed up include squads from Bainbridge Island, Renton, Seattle, North Kitsap and South Kitsap, Highline, Lake Stevens and University Place.

Sponsored by RE/MAX Fifth Avenue, the tourney features 15 divisions of play: both boys and girls divisions in U9, U10, U11, U12, U13 and U14 brackets, boys play in U15 and U16/17 divisions and a high school girls division.
