Peninsula Babe Ruth squad falls at regionals

The Olympic Junior Babe Ruth 13U team, a select squad of players from Sequim and Port Angeles, went 2-2 at the Babe Ruth 13 Year Old Pacific Northwest Regional Championship

The Olympic Junior Babe Ruth 13U team, a select squad of players from Sequim and Port Angeles, went 2-2 at the Babe Ruth 13 Year Old Pacific Northwest Regional Championship last week in Meridian, Idaho. The team fell short in their bid to advance to the 13U Babe Ruth World Series in Jamestown, N.Y., next month.

Olympic earned a split of games on July 22, falling to Twin Falls (Idaho) 11-4 before topping South Coast (Southern Oregon), 3-1.

On July 23, Olympic fell to eventual regional champion Camas (Southern Washington) 12-7, then rebounded with a 12-11 win against The Dalles (Northern Oregon) on July 24.

Camas topped East Boise (Idaho) 11-6 on July 25 to advance.
