A win on Thursday could could lead to a playoff game on Tuesday, Nov. 4, depending on certain circumstances for the Wolves.

Sequim (2-3 in league, 4-4 overall) sustained a 39-0 loss on Friday, Oct. 24, from the Olympic Trojans (5-0, 6-2 overall) but still could make the playoffs as the fourth seed from the Olympic League.

Friday night’s game at home against Bremerton (0-5, 2-6) has moved to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, to give players enough time to recover if they win. With that win, Sequim would play North Mason and  Port Angeles, who also would need to win on Thursday, in a showdown on Tuesday for playoff spots three and four.

However the Wolves will have to find answers following more injuries and a lack of offense.

Coaches report Sequim only had 87 yards of total offense in the loss to Olympic who vies for the league championship on Friday, Oct. 31, against North Kitsap (5-0, 8-0).

Sequim also suffered a devastating injury to running back and middle linebacker Chris Whitaker late in the first half.

The Trojans got on the board blocking punter Adrian Espinoza for a safety in the end zone at 8:25 in the second quarter. On their next possession Geordyn Shinar scored on a 5-yard touchdown pass from Makaleb McInnis. McInnis kicked a 32-yard field goal before half to go up 12-0.

Olympic exploded in the third quarter with Tyree Johnson scoring twice on 13-yard and 9-yard runs.

Keshun McGee ran a TD in with 5:14 in the third and McInnis threw a second touchdown to Chris Campana from 26 yards out.

Sequim’s Mark Feeney did block an McInnis extra point on Olympic’s fourth touchdown. Quarterback Miguel Moroles was limited to 5-10 passing and under five yards rushing. Backup quarterback Dylan Lott went 2-4 while Bailey Earley caught four passes.
