Olympic Peninsula Explorers hit Spruce Railroad Trail Saturday

Join Olympic Peninsula Explorers Saturday, May 9, for a 6k/12k walk on the Spruce Railroad Trail. The walk is free unless you wish to get credit from the AVA (American Volkssporter Association).

All walkers must sign up at the Fairmount Restaurant, US Highway 101 West/1127 Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles.

Sign up is at 8:45-9 a.m.

The trail is offers a gentle stroll along Lake Crescent’s north shore, mostly following the old abandoned railroad grade. It skirts two tunnels that are dangerous to enter.

No pets are allowed. Restrooms are at the trailhead and the log cabin resort. Maps of the trail will be handed out at the sign up.
