The Olympic Junior Babe Ruth 13U team — a select squad of players from Sequim and Port Angeles — swept all four games at the North Washington 13U Junior Babe Ruth state baseball tournament, held July 9-12 at Port Angeles’ Volunteer Field.

The team opened with a 17-0 drubbing of North Kitsap on July 9, then edged the Spokane Toros 4-3 on July 10 and toppled the NW Bandits 14-4 on July 11.

In the championship, Olympic won the rematch with the Spokane Toros in easier fashion, a 10-4 decision.

Olympic advances to a regional tournament in Meridian, Idaho, slated for July 22-25.

A regional tournament title sends Olympic to the 13U Babe Ruth World Series in Jamestown, N.Y., next month.
