Sequim all-star squads battle at districts, state

Softball seniors

Second to just one: Sequim Little League’s Senior Softball squad dropped a pair of games to the District 4 champs (southwest Washington) at the state tourney on July 11, 11-1 in game one and a 3-2 heartbreaker in game two as the Sequim squad tried to force a tiebreaker.

Softball Majors

No regional rivalry here: Sequim and East Jefferson Little League players joined forces for the District 2 tourney June 25-30 on Bainbridge Island. After dropping an 18-7 decision to North Kitsap American/National on June 25, the Sequim/Jefferson County team rebounded with a 16-6 win to eliminate Key Peninsula on June 26, but fell in a rematch with North Kitsap American/National on June 27, falling 11-9.

Boys Majors

Sequim Little League’s boys majors all-star squad earned a win at the District 2 tournament, held July 5-12 at Snider Park in Poulsbo but were eliminated short of their goal for a state berth. The team opened with a 24-0 loss to eventual district champ Gig Harbor American on July 5. The Sequim squad recovered and beat South Kitsap Eastern 5-2 on July 6, but was eliminated in an 8-1 loss to South Kitsap Western on July 7.

Kylynn Stringer from Sequim Little League joined up with the North Kitsap Little League Junior Fastpitch All-Star Team that placed fifth overall at the state tournament in Snoqualimie on July 6-12.
