With the season-opener for Sequim High School’s varsity football season less than a month away (Sept. 6 at home vs. New Westminister, B.C.), players and parents should be aware of key upcoming deadlines:

• All players need new yellow and white cards for eligibility. The cards will be available from the SHS office, 601 N. Sequim Ave., between 8 a.m.-3 p.m. beginning Monday, Aug. 12. Cards are due to coaches byWednesday, Aug. 21.

• Sports physicals are available from 8-10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17, at the Sequim Boys & Girls Club, 400 W. Fir St.; there is a fee of no more than $25.

• The season-starting team meeting is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21, at the SHS gymnasium, 601 N. Sequim Ave. First practices follow the meeting.

• An SHS parents meeting is slated for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22, at the school cafeteria, 601 N. Sequim Ave.
