Doty leads Crosspoint, gains regional honor

Crosspoint Academy’s Deserée Doty was named Kitsap Sun’s Girls Soccer Player of the Year last week.

Doty is the daughter of Sequim High grad Derrin Doty, who also coaches the team.

Deserée Doty and her team took home a Class B state title for a second consecutive season, beating Liberty Bell 5-1 on Nov. 22.

Doty finished with the season 53 goals and with 153 career goals is second on the state’s all-time scoring list behind Seattle Christian’s Melissa Bennett (166).


SkyRidge’s Pre-Christmas tourney on tap

SkyRidge Golf Course hosts its Pre-Christmas 18-Hole Tournament, starting at 9:30 a.m. (barring frost) on Saturday, Dec. 13.

Format is triple-six format, with the first six tees a scramble, the second six a better ball format and the final six based on aggregate score. Cost is $60 per two-person team. Price includes golf, range balls and food. Power carts are $15 per seat. T
