Knights of Columbus tourney set for Sept. 12

Sunland Golf & Country Club, 109 Hilltop Dr., hosts the Knights of Columbus Charity Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 12, with tee times starting at 8 a.m.

The four-person scramble is open to the community, and has men’s women’s and mixed divisions.

Cost is $35 for Sunland members, $55 for non-members. The fee includes green fees and contests; carts will be available.

Silverdale golfer gets hole-in-one

Mike Walls of Silverdale sank his second lifetime hole-in-one on Aug. 13 at The Cedars at Dungeness. He used a 9-iron to drive the 145-yard hole No. 8 at The Cedars. Jim Triggs of Gig Harbor witnessed the feat.

Nelson sinks and ace

Ron Nelson hit a hole-in-one at Dungeness Meadows’ sixth hole on Aug. 27, using a 5-wood. Kris Lether of Sequim witnessed the feat.
