Dance benefit

“Dance Into Fall” benefiting the Captain Joseph House Foundation, which provides support to Gold Star families, will take place on Saturday, Sept. 20 featuring the Buck Ellard Band.

The event will be from 5-10 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge, 622 S. Lincoln St. in Port Angeles.

Barbecue from Black Bear Diner will be served, and there will be indoor barrel racing, calf roping, corn hole, a western-wear contest, a silent auction and prizes.

Tickets are $50 each and can be purchased online at captainjosephhousefoundation.networkforgood.com/events/90051-dance-into-fall. Attendees must be 18 or older.

Gala Garden featured artist chosen

The 26th Annual Soroptimist Gala Garden Show isn’t until March 2026, but the planning committee has unveiled its featured artist.

Karen Sistek will showcase her piece titled “Adelaide,” which will set the theme for the annual show taking place March 21-22, 2026.

“This stunning piece is not only a visual delight but also an opportunity for you to own it by placing a bid during the event,” stated an announcement about Sistek being chosen as the featured artist. “The vibrant colors of the tulips in ‘Adelaide’ are sure to enliven any living or dining space, adding a touch of elegance and warmth.”
