Sequim School District is accepting referrals for students in all grade levels who perform or show potential for performing at significantly advanced levels when compared with others of their age, experiences, or environments and will benefit from Highly Capable Program services.
Referrals are accepted through Jan. 31 with late forms not accepted, according to school district staff. Anyone may submit a referral — teachers, parents/guardians, staff, friends, students, and/or community members — but parent/guardian permission must be received prior to testing.
District staff note that if a student already receives Highly Capable services, no new referral is needed as once they are identified, students continue to receive services through graduation or until they leave the district.
Referral forms are available on the Sequim School District’s website at sequimschools.org/instruction/highly_capable___hi-_cap_/process_and_forms, and in paper form upon request, which may be returned to any school building office, or the Highly Capable Program Coordinator Jodi Olson at Sequim Middle School
With questions, contact Olson at 360-775-7083 or jolson@sequimschools.org.
