On Nov. 13, the Wolves fell in three sets to Ellensburg (25-7, 25-17, 25-19) to fall to the consolation round.

Megan Breckenridge and Ella Christiansen led the Wolves’ offense with five kills apiece while Breckenridge (10 digs) and Rylie Roberts (eight digs) paced the defense.

Sydney Balkan had a team high 10 assists and Lillian Oden had five.

Adrienne Haggerty had two of Sequim’s three blocks.

Sequim was 37-of-43 (86 percent) from the service line.

Later the same night, Sequim dropped a three-set match to Anacortes (25-16, 25-23, 25-15).

Haggerty had a team-high seven kills, Christiansen had four and Breckenridge and Kaila Sundquist had three each. Balkan had 12 of the team’s 20 assists.

On the defensive side, Breckenridge had 18 digs, McKenzie Bentz added 13 and Taylor Breckenridge had 10.

Balkan and Roberts had two aces each, and the Wolves missed just three of their 54 serves (94.4 percent).

“We ran across a couple of good teams,” Sequim coach Jennie Webber Heilman said.

Ellensburg went on to finish second to state champion Burlington-Edison while Anacortes placed eighth.

The West Central District put six teams in the state tourney but each team failed to place at the 16-team tournament, amassing a 2-12 overall record.
