Woodturners to meet April 16

The Strait Turners Woodturning Club has changed its monthly meeting date; the club now meets on the third Saturday of the month on Zoom.

On April 16, club member John Elliott will be turning tops, honey dippers and pens, if time allows.

To participate, call Jackie Le Doux at 360-457-5172 (8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. or after 5 p.m.) or 360-452-5673 (12:30-5 p.m.).

At noon on Tuesday, April 26, the club hosts an online show-and-tell, an opportunity for members to show off and talk about any recent woodturning projects they have completed.

The group is also hosting open shop events, where a few members gather in a host member’s shop to learn from each other. In April it will be Ted Lund showing different ways to mount wood on the lathe. Call him directly to apply for a time slot at 360-477-4742.

Established in 2016, Strait Turners normally meets at Gardiner Community Center, but because of the COVID pandemic, members are meeting on Zoom and do not have a date for in-person meetings.
