Local Detachment 897 of the Marine Corps League congratulates Commandant Mark Schildknecht as recipient of the 2022

Marine of the Year Award for the Northwest Division of the Marine Corps League.

This division includes five states — Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska — and their 46 detachments.

This award, Marine Corps League representatives note, recognizes the top candidates that exhibit the best in community service within the division and is awarded to only one recipient each year.

“Mark was chosen for the award for his many years of community service, leadership, dedication and assistance in keeping with the highest traditions of American Patriotism and Loyalty,” Marine Corps League representatives said.
