In 2025, Soroptimist International of Sequim allocated funds to the Boys and Girls Club in Sequim for its Great Futures Preschool, with the aim of providing scholarships to assist parents. Last week, President Roxann Harr, left, attended the preschool graduation, where many parents expressed appreciation for the support provided for their children. Pictured with Harr is Alexandria Souza with her preschool-aged son Carson, and her older son Caleb.

The clock’s workings were manufactured in 1880 in Boston, purchased by Clallam County and installed in the courthouse in 1914. Jefferson County has a similar clock mechanism. Sequim School District’s leaders anticipate Sequim Middle School being retrofitted with a new safety and security system this summer funded with monies approved through the district’s $146 million, 20-year construction bond approved by voters in February 2025. A bidding process for the project will tentatively go out in the next month so the project can be done this summer, staff said.
